Objective:Students will critically analyze an article in order to complete an inquiry based activity on the properties of water.
Living systems depend on properties of water that result from its polarity and hydrogen bonding.

Warm Up/Things to Do:
- Press Play Mrs. Berkeley
- Please sit with your 7 o'clock partner for the duration of today's class.
- With your 7 o'clock partner, work on the following questions:
- Think of all the ways in which you have used water during the last week.
- Cross out the items you can live without.
- Place a star next to the items that are essential.
- Review the items with stars: Is there an alternative to water that you could use instead? Why or why not? What do you know about water that makes it so unique?
- Place your student number on all homework assignments prior to submitting into our new INBOX :)
- Place completed homework into 4 separate piles:
- Study Guide Ch. 2
- Reading Guide Ch. 2
- Bonding Foldable (Red Paper)
- Notes: Ch. 3

- In this lesson, students reflect on the importance of water in their lives, investigating the properties of water through a series of experiments and activities.
Closure:
- Exit Ticket Activity -- Pair/Share – With your three o-clock partner, verbally summarize the main ideas of this concept and link the concept to both past and future lessons.
Homework:
- Notes: Properties of Water - Chapter 3
- Using a storyboard template or online site, draw and write a cartoon strip or story board (in color) with water as the “super hero,” a “Mighty Mouse” among molecules, a molecule of unusual and amazing properties. You should use what they have learned about the molecular structure and properties of water to develop character attributes and a probable storyline.

If you try walking during a blizzard, you will be buffeted by the wind and blowing snow.
Friday, December 7 – BURGEON (v.) – to come forth; blossom
In the spring the flowers began to burgeon making the field look like a work by Monet.

At the beginning of the year the band room was full of cacophony but in a a short time the teacher had it sounding like a symphony.
