  1. Please feel free to comment on what concepts you did/did not understand. As a result of today's lesson, do you feel confused or did you have a Eureka! moment?

  2. I was actually a bit confused at first because I knew we were dealing with glycerin but I didn't understand why we had to use 2 different attached papers (different structures) and why water droplets were necessary. Also, what would have been the end product by taking out the water? But none the less the activity was fun since I like hands-on activities a lot.
    Thank you!

  3. I was also confused because i did not quite understand the function of the water droplets to the structure we were building today. However, in my opinion i felt the lab was a fun yet educational way of building structures pertaining to AP Biology.

  4. Thank you both (Tashnima and Pravitha) for your comments. The point of the water droplets was to illustrate the removal of water via dehydration synthesis. In other words, in order to form or synthesize any of these macromolecules, you must remove a molecule of water. Further, the three parts you added were 2 saturated fats and 1 unsaturated fat. I hope this helps clear up any misconceptions.

    Thanks for your post.
